Founding Cohort
Paper Party
Upload a paper. Discover the conversations. Join the table.
Project Snapshot¶
Type
Research Conversation Tool
A system for turning uploaded papers into discoverable literature conversations and discussion spaces.
Mode
Upload, Discover, Dialogue
A simple flow from paper upload to mapped literature context and debate.
What It Does¶
Paper Party is designed around a simple research workflow:
- upload a research paper in PDF form
- discover the surrounding academic conversation
- join a discussion table and debate with the literature
Core Idea¶
The live demo frames academic reading as something more social and navigable. Instead of treating a paper as an isolated document, the product aims to help users see the surrounding conversation and step into it.
Published Flow¶
The current live page presents the project in three stages:
Upload¶
Drop a research paper in PDF format.
Discover¶
AI maps the literature landscape around the paper.
Dialogue¶
Users join tables and debate with the literature.
Why It Matters¶
This is a strong founding cohort example because it takes a familiar knowledge task, reading a paper, and reframes it as a structured interactive workflow. The project is not only about summarising content. It is about helping users move from solitary reading to contextualised academic conversation.

Closing Thought¶
Paper Party points toward a more collaborative research experience: upload the paper, see the wider discussion, and enter the conversation with more context than a standalone PDF can provide.
